A tragedy has befallen the Port, as Khaos has attacked it. The Park & Temple District, the Westgrove Care Clinic, and the Slums appear to have been the main target of the heretics, as those are the areas with the most damage. The attack started in the Park and Temple district, when mysterious portals opened all around, depositing cultists, daemons, and constructs alike, leading to a mass confusion amongst the Guarde garrison and the population. When the smoke cleared, the cultists controlled the district, with only a few Inquisitors and Guardes left to seal the district off from the public eye.
Later, the heretics used the same method they used in the Park district to assail the Westgrove Care Clinic, slaughtering all of the patients and staff within. Imperial forces arrived in order to stop the heretics from spreading further, but they were unable to push them out of the clinic proper. This gave the cultists access to the labyrinthine system of tunnels beneath the Port, and subsequently allowed them to bypass the blockades the Imperials had set up.
After digging through the tunnels beneath the clinic and connecting them to various other tunnels, the heretics used this system to gain access to the Slums, which they subsequently attacked, causing damage to the already down-trodden district.
After managing to stop the advance of the cultists, the Inquisition drafted several free-lancers to clear the heretics out. Their identities are unknown, but what -is- known is that they successfully drove the cultists out of both the Clinic and the Slums, culminating in a battle between Imperial and Khaos forces for control of the Park & Temple District, and eventually leading to the assassination of the heretic commander by the free-lancers.
