===Prologue=== (WIP)
"The hordes are coming, we have to leave her." spoke Thomas as the roar of the barbarians was coming closer. A gruff dwarven accent was heard as a couple of bolts whizzed through the air. "Oi, we ain't leavin' nu'one lad! Lift 'er up ye' shoulder and let's keep running!" The voice was brought closer to Thomas as the figure of an armored dwarf with a masterwork repeating crossbow attempted to lift the woman's body up to his shoulders, retreating from the battle.
"The hordes are coming, we have to leave her." Those words echoed in her mind before she lost conciousness from blood loss.
===The League of Six===
Bard tales and songs spoke of a group of six adventurers that had existed in the days of the Pre-Reformation. An Audilian wizard, a Pre-Reformation Erodemian soldier, an assassin from the Citadel, a dwarven ranger, a human swordswoman, and an elven battlemage. These daring individuals were capable of assaulting the most dangerous of dungeons, and accomplishing the most difficult of quests. Rumors say of a catastrophe that split the group apart, with each member going their separate ways, their spirits and morale having broken completely after such a tragic loss.
Leorian, Wizard of Audiliah
A man of venerable age, this wizard has a vast knowledge of the Art. Through reading Audilian philosophies, he has taken an unorthodox form of agnosticism: Divine Humanism. This concept teaches that the self shapes the universe. In essence, each sentient creature in the world is a tiny diety, able to exert his will to manifest small changes in the universe. He believes that mortals with divine and arcane power are capable of shaping the universe more potently than a simple peasant or even noble. Gods in his eyes are believed to still be mortals that have ascended far enough in the universe to form major changes in it. Their proclamation of being a "God" or "Goddess" drives other mortals to worship them, which causes a chain reaction of minor changes that can snowball into a force to be reckoned with.
Outsiders know this as "Faith."
He sought out the most readily available subjects to test his philosophy on, which brought him to involvement with the League during its founding. Travelling with a dwarf and a swordswoman, the three would later on find the other half of the members.
Upon the League's final end, Leorian returned to his homeland. He was convinced that his hypothesis was true after seeing the valiant and courageous adventurers change the very world of Terral during their quests, piece by piece.He currently writes a book that explains his spiritual and religious philosophy, in hopes that it will better relations with their neighbor, the Empire.
Thoregaard Stonethrower, Heavy Marksman
A dwarf of Skaldic origin, he trained himself in his clan's tradition of martial combat and marksmanship. Knowing the hardy nature of his race, he believes that armor should not hinder a marksman's ability to fight, but in fact make up for his lack of melee capability. He sought out to inherit his ancestor's suit of dwarven half-plate, "Bulwark of the Ancestors" by proving his dwarvenhood, which involved pursuing the Path of the Marksman, which initiated him into his career as a ranger. With his clan honor and his dwarven pride fulfilled, he sought out more adventure to satiate the lust of gold and metal that a majority of his race possesses. Hearing tales of a manling adventuring group, he adorned the Bulwark upon himself, setting forth towards the southern lands with Fire-spitter, his masterwork repeating crossbow.
He eventually joined the League alongside Leorian and Cheryl, having later met the rest along the way.
Out of a sense of stubborn determination, Thoregaard stayed true to the League's purpose after it dispersed, still claiming himself to be a member as he travels the southern lands, upholding the honor of the Stonethrower clan, and dispatching vile creatures with his weapon of choice.
Gabriel Norgrim, Master of the Longsword
Once a grizzled veteran of the Erodemian Guard of Revarine, he has long since abandoned his life of law enforcement for the port. Having unofficially retired from his career during Pre-Reformation times, he hires himself off as a mercenary alongside Thomas Batteheim, who prefers to be called "Shadow." Some say it was Thomas that forced Gabriel to quit his position due to a failed arrest of a group of criminals that performed a daredevil heist upon the Forge, stealing valuable silver weaponry and selling them on the Citadel's black market. In order to hide his embarrassment, Gabriel stepped down from his guard duties and chose to continue making use of his training as an adventurer.
Both Thomas and him joined the League being hirelings at first, then later became permanent party members as the both of them agreed that they were becoming more profitable adventuring with the others than simple Citadel business.
Eventually, he prematurely left the League on an expedition to the north for reasons unknown, with only Thomas the only ear to hear such a secret.
Thomas "Shadow" Batteheim, Scoundrel of the Citadel
A sly assassin and "locksmith" originating from the Citadel, Thomas lives the life of the scoundrel. Thievery, extortion, smuggling and making people disappear are the main skills of his profession. It was his diabolical mind that caused the Forge heist to become such a huge profitable success in his fencing business. His companion is Gabriel Norgrim, whom previously attempted to undermine his criminal efforts in the port city. If one were to ask Thomas of why Gabriel retired, he would simply refuse to answer, not out of a sense of honor, but out of a sense of being a good friend and a "damn good silver tongue" as Gabriel would say. Alongside Gabriel, he joined the League in hopes of fame and fortune.
Just before the breaking of the League, Thomas suffered a facial scarring that he covers with a steel plate. It is unknown whether he stayed in doing business with the Citadel, or traveled to the northlands to follow his friend, Gabriel.
Corfilas, Elven Battlemage
An elven spellsword of unknown origination even to his fellow adventurers, Corfilas emerged from the deep parts of the forests that surrounded the port, only to suddenly ask the League if they could allow him to join. Even to this day, Corfilas speaks little of his heritage or his profession, simply replying with "Spellsword."
He was presumed slain during the adventure into the Skyline mountains, where he held off the onslaught of barbarians worshiping the god, Khaos. No one truly knows whether he survived the adventure or not, with only bards speaking of his heroism as a martyr.
