When you are brought to -11 hit points or lower, you will fall dead and be rendered blind. After a short period of time, you will have the option of respawning or waiting for help. If you wait for help, any player who is a cleric can raise you using a Raise Dead or Resurrection spell. Both of these spells require components: Raise Dead requires one small diamond, and Resurrection requires one large diamond and one bottle of holy water. These material components can be purchased at most temples.
If you chose to respawn, you will be brought to an area called Limbo and you will leave behind remains at the spot where you died. 30% of the gold you are carrying will be dropped onto these remains and so will a corpse item. This corpse item can be picked up and carried around from place to place much like how the Powder Keg works.
The only way for you to escape Limbo and return to the rest of the game world is to have someone bring you back. This can be done by having them drop your corpse on the ground and cast Raise Dead or Resurrection on it, or, by bringing the corpse to a temple. Using the corpse's unique power on the priest at the temple will restore the dead character to life, for a fee.
If the corpse is lost, the character can still be returned to life using a True Resurrection, which costs more. If you speak to the priest, you will have the option of explaining that you do not have your companions remains. You will be given a list of all characters currently in Limbo, and by typing their name into chat and continuing with the conversation, you will restore the dead character to life.
In any case, if you have been killed, you cannot bring yourself back to the world of the living on your own. You must depend on your companions or someone else to bring you back, either by casting a raise spell or by bringing your corpse to an NPC temple.
Note: As of now the maximum amount of gold you can lose upon dying is 50k. I may have to make it unlimited in the future, but if you're carrying around so much gold that 30% of what you have is 50k, then I don't know what the fuck.
Another Note: If you die and the server resets, you will not be restored to life the next time you log in. The mod is set up to remember who is alive and who is dead persistently, and you will drop dead/be teleported to Limbo if you join after a server reset.
