Erodemnity (air-oh-dem-ne-tE) is a church practicing the worship of the god, Erodemius. Followers of the church are called Erodemians; however, this term often interchangeably refers to the people inhabiting the Province of Erodemius, whether they follow the church or not. Followers are found all across Terral (insert link), throughout varying cultures. It's the most widely practiced religion and even declared as the religion of state by the Empire.
The teachings of Erodemnity state that all beings were given the right to use Terral to forge from it what they wish. Naturally, this granted power is not without laws and reparations for misuse and disrespect. The laws are defined and referred to as morality and sin, and form much of the basis for social norms. This would make obvious actions of destruction a terrible sin. Humanoids are considered a part of Terral as well, deeming it important to treat others with goodness and respect.
There are lines drawn as to what may be tampered with on Terral. The waters, earth, animal life, and all natural resources are all expendable, but some things are forbidden. For example, the magic weave directly from the source is untouchable --even blasphemous-- while the divine magic weave that flows through Erodemius is acceptable. This is because the use of source magic is seen too closely as following the footsteps of Azrael and undoing what Erodemius has created.
Worship is relatively undemanding and can be as simple as saying a prayer upon seeing the sun for the first time in the day. Hosting celebratory feasts and festivals as well as erecting statues in the name of Erodemius are all common practices. The church's chief centre, located in Vathedria, the Empire's capital, is centered around the Solis Oculus, a 782 ft obelisk built to the god.
