Rest of the Summer

I probably will take the server offline soon. There is absolutely nothing happening as two of our DMs decided to throw a fit and leave. They have told me they were going to return to run plots and such but so far that just hasn't happened.

I cannot run this server by myself, I need a staff of helpers and so far Bertina and myself seem to be the only ones remaining.

The quality of RP has dropped to an all-time low and the hostilities between players has become absolutely ridiculous. The amount of obnoxious high-school drama going on is idiotic. For those of you who like to sit on MSN or on the server and talk behind other people's backs, don't think I am blind to it. I know what is being said and who is saying it, and I am disgusted at the massive amounts of immaturity, cowardice and spite being put on display.

Really, this isn't working out right now. Perhaps winter break or next summer it will start up once again, as it always does, perhaps in a different and better form, but right now, I am angry, frustrated, disappointed and overall... tired.

It's really up to you guys if you want to keep this going or not. Simply hosting the server is no problem, but I need help to actually keep it fun like it was. Most of all, however, I need the petty bullshit to stop.

I've told you multiple times that I would come back if the immaturity and bullshit stopped. And I don't appreciate you saying that we threw a fit. I saw Kybshe's logic behind the whole situation. To set the record straight, it had nothing to do with him being lolpwnt. He knew the outcome before it ever happened. I regret that we went ahead without your permission but you very well know that something needed to be done.

I will still build anything you guys need and look over things, hell, I'll run a plot every now and then if it's wanted. I love DMing and I'm not ready to give up on SotU. I only ask for respect towards me as a DM, respect towards other players and staying true to your character AND the setting. I don't think the players realize I've poured weeks of my life into perfecting the areas or that Kristine and Jack spent hours of their own, personal time into the lore and their own areas.

As unfortunate as it is to admit it, the RP on SoTU has become very stale, immature, and basically trashed the setting. I mean, people were talking about stupid shit and making stupid references to real life, modern day things last night, like playboy and other shit like mindflayer sex <.<. I swear to god, no offense dudes, even though I can hardly talk, this shit is getting impossible to stomach.

Apart from the fact that yes, the RP has been reduced to Illithid porn and sex (Which I hope will be fixed soon enough), there is no bullshit or drama going on at the moment. Or atleast, none that I'm aware of. I may be misinformed, but it seems like most of the horseshit has blown over.


I'd honestly appreciate it if the server stayed up, because SotU IS a fun place when the jackassery and bullshit isn't present.

I am sorry I haven't been on lately, but... I need to make a vast amount of money for school this summer. I can't afford to destroy my credit with loans this early on. As well, I've had some other stuff going on in real life. I don't wish to the see the server pass on, but if no players are creating drama between each other (ICly)... then it really isn't going to work.

However, this seems a tad unwise, being that anytime anyone does finally create drama... it ends in PvP, hurt feelings or a generally angry mob. As above stated, I don't wish to the see the server pass on, but if there aren't willing DMs or available DMs, then there isn't a server (unless the player base is amazingly self-sufficient).

P.S. Sorry if some spots are misspelled or don't make sense. Long day of work, and my brain quit working three hours ago.

There's a good amount of players, but its more or less the fact that most of them have no incentive to get on because of a lack of events. I've tried to get people on just to keep the server alive, but everytime it normally falls through :/

Lol that following week I was going to be in the middle of no where anyway, and I am busy these days anyway. Seeing old friends, and so forth. Yeah the RP took a huge dive, a massive dive. People just started metagaming, and bullshiting IC and saying 4th-wall breaking shit and then saying OOC "//Not lol" or whatever. It's not funny, or neat. It just breaks immersion.

I'm done because I'm busy, I won't be coming back any time soon because I don't like where the server went to.

It's a shame to see it go early this summer but I'll be looking forward for when it comes back for Winter break (as it always does). No doubt it'll pick up better then. Until that time comes, it won't hurt to plan for preventing what happened this time around. I know I inevitably will be.

More importantly, however, I can't help in keeping it online right now since I'm in my own little world at the moment.

Well. It seems that in the past couple of days the stupid RP has stopped and people are actually off doing things like killing people . Looks like the server is making a come-back from the period of retardation/inactivity.

Things may be looking up. I am looking for a more permanent host, as I cannot host once the end of August comes around.
