I've been noticing that there's a lack of anchorage for some players here on the server, but they still come in because it's a familiar place. I think we just need more content, more 'happenings' going on, more involvement. Now I know this is a problem, because a bunch of folks are busy with other things, mostly real life. However, I've thought about ways to work around that. I know some players from a long time ago, back when even local vaults were booming. They have plenty of experience in all different areas, some are experienced DMs, some are just darn good role players, others are fantastic builders. Why don't we try to bring in new people, get a little help and collaborate to increase the activity and overall fun of the server? We could try adding on a new DM to help the other staff members, maybe one with great Event experience. Others can help by building new content, or just being there to play. I also have more ideas to share, I recap back to my last faction suggestion: nwnsotu.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=ideas&action=display&thread=627But I am open to suggestions, we can all brainstorm about these things. |

The staffed portion of our community is held up at the moment, no idea what happened to Kristy/Purple, Coolreject+Hawks on vacation, Kybshe on break, Tenth with school, Forr with previous comp issues(but our current most active I would say). As much as talking helps we'll just need to wait on them to come back before anything moves along. They're the ultimate deciding factor on adding new staff and accepting updates and expansions.
I'll brainstorm when I get more word from them.

I'm bumping this back up with more to add.
Why don't we create a contact and time availability thread so we all know when people are around and how to let others know when something cool is going on? I for one really enjoyed the small gathering we had the other day, and I'd love to see that plot continue. I'd rather not just let that be the end of it here. I know we can make the server work, we just need to put some effort into it. We'll also have to hire some more DMs, I can't stress that enough. Perhaps we should have a new application thread where the remaining staff can decide over potential DMs.

And I agree that we DO need to get more DMs. Hoboz and Cel are nice and well, but as it stands I'm not sure if they'll often be busy building/expanding on the server. Actually I was going to make such a topic next time I or Celvantis had a plot in mind.
As for having applications for new DMs...I'm not in the place to say. Kristy and Brian are the admins and make the calls.

Well so far, I'm not seeing anything at all. I've been on and off all day, too. There was ONE person on besides me during the whole day. If there is something going on behind the scenes, I would certainly appreciate being let in on it.

Everything behind the scenes I've done are posted on the forums for people to see. Building and Plots which I have at the very least the teasers for on the forums. Other than that there isn't anything going on (at least to be revealed immediately, everything else is very tentative drafting)
Update: Realize I am a school student so I can't make it until 3:00pm EST at least. Same is to be expected of most people around fall time. Of course, this is why posting plots on topics is necessary, people can be busy or not notice otherwise.

Today? No, nothing happened. Though that could be related that it's fairly early in the day. People are either busy with work or school, or sometimes both.
Plus, people only get on when there is a plot going on, sadly. Which is why we need moar player initiative.

DM applications are up to Brian/Coolreject alone but it would be nice to see more DMs. There's quite a few people in our community who seem to have the time.
To our current DMs: I enabled the calendar on the forum to announce your events in.
