The problem with this logic is that while we play in the epic levels, we're actually not epic. We can we cast spells of the 9th level. We summon meteors, banish outsiders, raise the bloody dead. Why level 25 if you don't want us to roleplay it?

Not necessarily the question in need of asking. I think its a good solution for those who distaste grinding to 25/30/40 what have you. And honestly, I think its more or less a matter of how responsibly you roleplay. Just because you're level 25 here, or level 40 on an LV, doesn't mean you're capable of extreme feats.

If ICly all of us actually were level 25 or what-have-you, we'd be pew pewing through a good majority of half of the shit that is thrown at us. And, if that were indeed the case, situations on the server would reach epic proportions of stupid.

This does not answer my question at all. Why aren't we level 10-15, for instance? If we're going to roleplay in that direction?

This does not answer my question at all. Why aren't we level 10-15, for instance? If we're going to roleplay in that direction? Balancing issues, of course. It's probably easier for the DMs to balance mobs and make items for people that are level 25. Plus people (LIKE HOBOZ) like to have the option of creating interesting builds. A 10-15 level range limits that.

Oh trust me, I dislike lvl 15 now, basically means only 2 classes per build and that practically made the fighter/wm or pure this and that builds (Namely Clerics/Wizard/Sorcs) work only. I did experiment with some bard/rogue/fighter but ultimately it's better to just have lvl 25.
*ahem* To get back on the subject of casters though, I support trying to re-balance them so DC based spells are more viable. Against NPCs I don't see too big of a problem though. It's more or less PvP where DC based spells aren't viable.

So lets get it straight, we're aiming for a system that is not only balanced, but also boasts a high versatiability? This will require a broad array of items. Lots. I would also recommend the minimum level of any one class to be placed at an even number, 4 or 6, and the maximum level at 24 or 26. It would seem more logical given how NWN (or D&D) divides its feats and ability scores.
