This is just a request to all DMs who wish to do quests/plots inside the Diner.
I would prefer to be logged on as Grace when anything happens concerning the Diner, as ICly Grace spends most of her time in there. It just seems odd to me when I log in and people suddenly start talking to me about how the place is burned up, when I just walked out of there. <_<;
If you absolutely refuse to let me be logged on when you do something, at the very least give me a good description of what occurred via MSN, so that I'm not all wtfzomgsurprised by everyone when I get on.
And if you hate me and refuse to do either, then. Well. Phoo on you.

Apologies. I had 2 hours to plan a plot before work, and since nobody ever posts where they log out for the night, I naturally assume that people who are logged out are not present. I did not use the Grace NPC in the module vault because I was always told that doing so was against the rules, and I figured it would cause some bit of consternation to have your NPC being used by someone else. And I didn't get a chance to post anything about the quest because I had to leave immediately afterward and I wasn't back until 1am PST time, at which point I went to bed.
The Diner was not set ablaze, I didn't even think the incident was major enough to note. Rather a player chose to use fire arrows in the storage room upstairs to try and bring down the creature, despite warnings from their peers, and it scorched several things thanks to low rolls because I didn't want people to shoot just anywhere and was trying to get them to react to it. They were smothered immediately afterward, and I assumed - because the building was stonework and likely magically reinforced - burning it down would be rather difficult and something that would have to be intentional.
However since this has caused such consternation, several things will occur at this point:
1) I will no longer do plots this week or next if they coincide with a work time.
2) I will no longer do plots centered in Market Square.
Apologies again for the inconvenience.

That....seems a bit harsh of a self-punishment >.> Please don't do that to yourself D:
PS: I had always assumed that using NPC'd PCs were not allowed due to potential abuse or DM corruption. Though a clarification up front would be nice.

Concerning the fire mentioned, that was mostly due to Elk'hark, not a DM. Though the fire arrows scorching the ceiling is a rather minor blemish on the building as a whole. Though not entirely sure if you were referencing the Piano getting caught on fire or the scorched ceiling.

All she's asking is for her to be in the loop when something happens.

All she's asking is for her to be in the loop when something happens. Yeah, just ICly my character should know what's going on. I only 'prefer' to be on because it's odd for someone who hangs out in there in the back to not notice spiders and fireballs. XD I don't care if you do something with it, I just would like to know about it. And the market Square has nothing really to do with the Diner directly! ;P

I would like to point out that I have only been in 1 event this week, and that was yestarday in an event hosted by Forr. and fyi Elk uses fireballs not fire arrows...

I hosted 1 event last night and it involved fire arrows not fireballs. Since it was the only event I'm aware of occurring in the Diner that was DM run I ran on the assumption that this was directed at me.
Damn this crappy keyboard..
On another note it's not self-punishment. Simply a matter of convenience. The plot ran through most of the time, and I would prefer to avoid misunderstandings that I cannot be around to explain. So I have to limit it either to free days, or to areas where minimal damage does not necessitate reporting. If the plot runs long, I would like to go to work knowing I won't have offended anyone. No disrespect, but being on time to a paying job takes precedence over many things, since my father is currently unemployed. It's simply meant to allow my plots to remain self-contained, I don't like imposing conditions on people.

I should have worded that better >.< What I meant was that Elk was the one that set the Piano on fire, though I wasn't sure if when she mentioned the diner getting set on fire she was referencing the piano fire or the ceiling fire.
