I collaborated with Kybshe on ideas to create a whole new take on the race of vampires, making a new and hopefully entertaining faction for players and staff members alike. Please take the time to read the provided information, and if you have any questions, feel free to ask them here. I would greatly appreciate any advice or feelings on the faction, as I worked very hard to come up with this unique concept. I apologize, the details aren't as in depth and grand as I imagine them, but I figured I'd write it out in basic format and let the imagination do the rest.
Basic Overview:
The faction is made up of a small group of vampires (6), travellers from an unknown land. A plague hit the village they once resided in, killing off all their suitable blood sources. Now they have decided to settle in a much more populated area, adapting by making a living space underground, outside the port, and with a circus setup as a front. The group is lead by a greatly aged vampire, who even appears older, named Gaius Malius. The group, when travelling, go under the guise of mobile performers, having no trouble in decieving others with their strange abilities and appearances. They live by a code, to refrain from murder in order to feed, kept in line by Gaius to avoid the possible wrath of society.
List of Characters:
Gaius Malius – An elder vampire, but no one is really sure just how old he is. He's most certainly powerful, given his age, but out of all his troupe, he seems the least agressive. He keeps his group in line, having led them since the fall of their coven during the plague in their homeland. All the other vampires respect and fear him, while he has this strange gentlemanly attitude. Gaius' appearance is of a man in his late fourties, lines of age all over his face. His white hair is slightly long, but doesn't reach far past his jawline. His attire rather reflects his manner and attitude, being more expensive garb and that of a nobleman. Not much is known about him, even by his own people. His talents are more arcane, referred to as "Show Magic".
Alexander – Often viewed as Gaius' second in command, his 'right hand' so to speak. Alexander is unearthly gorgeous, the usual vampire fair skin, with long flowing blond hair and piercing blue eyes. He is quite tall and well built, but not as physically intimidating as one of his coven brothers, Dargan. The others believe that if there was anyone in the group that could be anywhere near Gaius' power, it would be Alexander. And like Gaius, Alexander seems to be quite the gentleman, though there hints that he is in fact quite different. The others have seen him in rare instances of a strange rage, like that of a madman. Some say he enjoys the suffering of his victims, that while he has the guise of a perfect nobleman, he can be a monster underneath. He can be incredibly obsessive should something catch his attention, but it is most always his desire to keep appearances. His vanity is only matched by his talent with blades, mostly throwing knives. His accuracy is impeccable, not to mention his speed, having no problem with impressing spectators.
Dargan – The 'strongman' of the group, Dargan is an impressive half-orc vampire that stands well over Alexander and Gaius in height, about 8 feet tall with a physique to match. He has the normal traits of a half orc, a full head of short black hair but no facial hair. One would think he's rather unintelligent, the way he acts and how strong he is, but he only pretends to be so around mortals. In fact, he enjoys literature more than he loves lifting weights and sparring. The others would pick on Dargan if they weren't afraid of his wrath. But what's even more odd is that he's learned to control his racial rage, making himself fairly sophisticated instead.
Mina – A lithe female elf, she is known for her agility and flexibility. She amazes spectators with her contortionism, and her incredible acrobatics. She is generally very well mannered, the graceful one. She offers advice to the others when she sees fit, and sometimes acts motherly to them. She has pale skin and short, rounded black hair. She does not speak perfect common, retaining an elven accent.
Wess and Weiss – Twin brother hins, they look almost identical to each other, but for the tattoos on the back of their necks. Wess has a tattoo of a cat, Weiss has a mouse. They both have the same short brown hair, often spiked up, youthful looking, pale skin, and short stature. They often do circus-like tricks with each other to amaze others, sometimes acrobatics, sometimes feats of skill with knives, juggling balls, and fire. The pair are fairly comical, brotherly, and they enjoy scheming and pranking on the others. They also have a talent for theft and speedy exits.
