Welcome to the 41st Millennium, where there is only war and grimdark. To be a man in such times is to be one amongst untold billions. It is to live in the cruelest and most bloody regime imaginable, and to face untold, alien horrors.
If you've never played the game Mafia, these are the rules. This is a game of an informed minority versus an uninformed majority. The informed minority (Mafia) always knows who is on their team. The uninformed majority is the mob, they are legion. While they have no idea who is innocent or evil, they have a job to do. The game is split into three zones: Daytime discussion, voting to lynch, and actions at night.
As your friendly gamemaster, I will narrate all these events to you. During the day, I will describe the events of the previous night, and allow for discussion. If you're a member of the Mafia, you should use this time to plan for the later lynching and night phase. Everyone else should form their own opinions.
Next comes the lynching phase, everyone publicly announces their vote on who they think should die. Whoever gets the most votes dies, and an autopsy reveals their role.
Now the night phase begins, while people without a special role sleep for the night. Special Characters and the Mafia get to do their thing. Special Characters will use whatever powers they've been given, while the Mafia discuss who they want to kill. This will all be done privately and through tells. Once I am informed of everyone's actions, the night phase ends, and the cycles starts over again.
This goes on until all the mafia are killed or they outnumber the townspeople.
OOC Rules:
1. Don't tell people your role
2. Don't RP your role in an obvious manner, everyone should try to appear as a fellow member of the mob.
3. Love the Emperor
Now then... I'm hoping to get at least 10 people, in order to have enough for both Mafia and special roles, without having too few townies.
These are the roles (If I'm subverting WH40K canon, it's for the sake of the game)
The Milita (PDF Forces): The mob, these guys are in charge of security on their planet, your outfit was just lucky enough to be stuck in the middle of nowhere without any contact with the outside world except once a month. You've gotta get rid of all the bad guys.
The Genestealers: These guys are bad news. The Mafia faction in this game, Genestealers are member of a insectiod race known as the Tyrranids. While most genestealers are horrific blue monsters with razor sharp claws, these guys are the product of molding with human DNA. There's almost no way of telling if they're alien or human, short of mind reading or autopsy. The other bad news is that they all know who they are, but you don't. You can only hope that through random, mob ruled executions that you can get rid of them all.
The Chaos Cultist: A crazy, a fellow who has been tainted by the heresy known as the Chaos Gods. This guy is determined to get everyone he can into the cult, and the sacrifice them all in order to get hawt demon secks, or something like that. Once per night, he can approach someone to try and convert them to the cult. If they're PDF, they have a 50% chance of doing this, if they fail, no one knows but the Cultist. If he succeeds, he gains a follower who takes orders from him. If he tries his Khaos voodoo on a Genestealer, he's got a 50% chance of survival, but they'll both know what the other is, and can no longer take actions against each other at night. Lynching them off during the day is preferable.
The Latent Psyker: This guy is able to get vibes from a person's surface thoughts. They don't know why, but they know they're usually right. Once a night, they can focus on a person, and can learn their role. That is, if they don't mess up, and they have a 10% chance of messing, and will get the role reversed. Because of this chance of failure, the Psyker can't acctucally prove someone is a monster, they can only vote to lynch them. Being convincing will also be a good tool of the Psyker.
Those are the current roles, if I get less than 10 people, I'll just make it PDF and Genestealers, more might get another role added.
