First off, do we have guards on this module? Like, you know, the guards in VoC, with the stun sticks and jail sticks and stuff? If we have guards in here, it'll determine my third character... who will *gasp* be a normal human! I might make him anyway, but he'd work out better as a guard. Second, what are the werewolves like on this server? Do we get a werewolf appearance-change ability (since polymorph sucks), like an appearance change rod or something, an extra character slot just named 'Werewolf' with a werewolf portrait, appearance, and no bio (for secrecy!), or what? Third, I know tieflings are allowed and not full-blown demons, but what about half-demons? I'm asking 'cause Kye doesn't seem right without his wings and his tail. I'd like to point out, though, that since I've basically been writing a series of novels that includes Kye (it's set in my own fantasy world of Wylfgard), I've been revising and fixing his character to be more believable as a half-demon (he isn't a demon anymore, now he's only half). In other words: no Chaotic Good. I'm making him Chaotic Neutral with a story to back it up (based loosely on some occurrences in my novel series that he's in).

1) Yes but no cheesy guard wands... but they do have pay.
2) They have a polymorph wand that transforms your character into both the hybrid and wolf appearances.
3) I was always under the impression that half demons fell under tieflings. Tail and wings would require a chracter biography however, but that shouldn't be a problem with you.

And nope, it won't be a problem at all. I have more fun writing than I do gaming these days. Well, I'm off to work on some character builds, finish updating NWN, and writing bios, then.

Just a talk with Councillor Alstein and you'll get set up to be a hired mercenary for the militia. Well, it rather depends on how you introduce your character, really. What were you looking for in the guards?

Alrighty; thanks again. I guess that's all the questions I got for now, at least until I'm done fixing up my three characters.
I'm glad to see the guards don't have weird rods, to be honest. Heh.
EDIT: Well, I dunno. I was just going for a cop-like guard, not necessarily a mercenary, really.

You're generally a hired mercenary when you've got no military training from within the guards... which would be like every case of the guards you're used to in VoC.

Alright; that'll be fine, then. I just wanted him to be working as a guard of some description. That is his character, after all. By the way, Cristy, I just want to say you receive a hug from me for nerfing TS. Now I can FINALLY make my characters true to their actual abilities (no random levels of Sorc just for the sake of fighting)! That's awesome. Oh, and I'm not sure I mentioned this before - not that you know basically anything about the book series, but I figured you should know that I based one of the sisters (he has three) of the protagonist on my main novel series on you. So when I get rich and famous (hey, everybody's aiming for it), you can tell everyone that you're in the book as the main character's elder sister. Heheheh...

Oh, and I PMed you bios for my two non-standard-race characters (werewolf and half-demon), Cristy. EDIT: Okay, Dremos just told me about the fact that, apparently, Kye's gonna have to be Neutral Evil. I can deal with that, I guess (although I'm not good at RPing evil characters because I just prefer being good, but hey, I should practice). But what's this about ALL werewolves suddenly - POOF - becoming Chaotic Evil? And is there any way I can get around that silliness (yes, I know you guys want to follow the D&D books; I can't blame you for not wanting goodguy red dragons and demons running around picking flowers, so I can't blame you, but that werewolf mess is just stupid)? I can stand having Kye as Neutral Evil, but my werewolf character (Tom) is a goodguy. Think of him as sort of like the Wolf Man - the reluctant monster. Good while human, savage while wolf (at least, I guess I'll make it so he hasn't learned how to control it yet in this character version...). Also, apparently I screwed up while building my other characters (Tom and Bruce). So, hate to ask again, but could somebody delete those two from the server?

The alignment of any lycanthrope is dependant upon the base animal's alignment. Noble animals such as bears, lions, and eagles are good aligned and sinister creatures such as wolves are evil, or more specifically, chaotic evil. Like any creature's alignment, this is based off of how the lycanthrope is perceived through its actions by the outside world. Specifically, werewolves that are aware of their affliction take pleasure in killing intelligent creatures and especially those of the same humanoid race as the werewolf. People look at this and call this evil. Yes, werewolves can be good aligned but such an alignment is dependant on how it's perceived, not through any innate quality. Since the server is mostly inhabited by good aligned creatures, Tom would need to be chaotic evil aligned at least through the character sheet. Combined with the fact that werewolves enjoy the company of others and prefer civilization over the wilderness, this leaves alot of room for good roleplay.
I'll PM you more specifics on werewolves.
Oh, and, unless you screwed up level 1, you can just run to the level fixer in AFK Land and fix yourself up. Otherwise, yeah, Dremos can delete your characters since he's the host.

What's this about animals having alignments? They're just animals. They should just be neutral. If animals have specific alignments through the way they're perceived, why are lions good? And why are wolves evil? Male lions will kill male cubs, or all the cubs of the previous male of a pride just to show his authority. Wolves, on the other hand, take care of each other. Every wolf, even if they have no blood relation to the pups, will fight to the death to protect them. And lions are more aggressive than wolves when it comes to human attacks. Not that I'm saying lions should be evil and wolves good - I just think all animals should be NEUTRAL. They're animals. Or am I just thinking about this too much? Anyway, thanks for the info, Cristy. I still don't really understand why he would have to be Chaotic Evil on his character sheet - can't werewolves still turn into werewolves and not enjoy it and thus still actually be good anymore? - , but... whatever. *shrug* I just thought Tom could be like The Wolf Man, for example. The reluctant monster. His human is Chaotic Good, but his werewolf is Chaotic Evil. Y'see what I'm saying? I thought D&D was steadily getting more lenient on alignments for creatures, like having playable Dragonkin, but apparently werewolves didn't get a piece of that. Still, I'll read the info you PM me and try to follow it anyway, for the server. I know you guys don't want to steer from D&D's rules, so yeah. I'll listen. It might be interesting to try and RP Tom this way, so... yeah. I just felt like blowing off that steam - I've just gotten to where I don't like a lot of things D&D does, especially these days. But anyway...

DnD rules are largely based off of superstition and legends. See, wolves have always been titled as a menace, killing livestock and the like, even if it is just for food and not really knowing if it was bad or not. Lion nobility stretches all the way to ancient Egypt as an ancient protector against the forces of evil. People would own cats and have sculptures of lions placed rightside of buildings, thinking such things would protect them. These rules were put out there as a fun way for people to play by superstition and legends as if it was the real deal.

What's this about animals having alignments? They're just animals. They should just be neutral. Animals are neutral. What I said was misleading and not really what I meant. XD When I mean a lycan's alignment is based off of the animal type's alignment, I mean it's determined by how civilization perceives the animal. Pretend you're in a fantasy world and not in our world. You have all these common stereotypes for animals that you've grown up with based off of stories, superstition, and whatnot. You see and hear wolves killing people and livestock. Wouldn't you think the creature is an evil and chaotic beast? This is how lycanthrope alignments are determined... through these perceptions, not any innate quality.

XD Ahh, I understand, then. Thanks for clearing that up... I thought, there's no way they'd give animals actual alignments. ;D But I get it now. Oh, and I PMed you again by the way...

Dremos and me just went over this and decided that we're throwing out DnD's lycanthrope alignment requirements for every type. BUT! Natural werewolves are to remain evil, any evil, not just chaotic. Since, after all, werewolves are legendary evil creatures.
The reasoning behind this was becaue of your comment about animals being neutral... it was just never really thought of before.
